i just HAD to turn around. *sighs*

So..I was heading to my Moms this afternoon when my kids and I spotted a dog wandering around on the busy road we were driving down. *sighs* My girls immediately started to whine "MOmmy!! You HAVE to stop!" but..I was going to resist..until we got close. And I noticed A. she was soaking wet B she had tags and C..she is very very old. *sighs* So I turned around and headed back for her. She had crossed the busy four lane road, causing cars to screech to a halt. And I pulled up near her and opened the door. The number on her tag is out of town. So have not reached them yet. But her name is Sophie. She seems to be deaf but is VERY sweet. And is nwo warm and dry and in my house. *sighs*

Well..heres what I know so far. Sophie is 13 and is on thyroid medication. (ill go pick some up today if we cant track down her owners today) and was just seen in December. So she definately has people who lover her. The vet clinic called a cell number they have on file and had to leave a message. Our guess is that her owners are out of town or something and left Sophie with someone while they were gone. Whoever that someone is, they ae not checking craigslsit or Petfinder. Ill call the shelter when they open and see if anyone has been in looking for her. But I wont take her in there. Anyways..hers the big red Sophie rug!

just a more personal note..this is the SWEETEST dog. A very good representation of her breed, temperament wise. Gets along well with absolutely everyone. Although she did give Murphy what for for getting fresh.

Vi, you've trained your girls well, they know a soul in need when they see one. I only hope Sophie's owners are as grateful as I'm sure she is for your rescue.

Well, Sophie will be going home in just a little bit. She is living with her owners employee while they are abroad, apparently. (they travel frequently and Sophie goes and stays with Beth. They had planned on taking her this time because it was a long term trip but Beth talked them into leaving Sophie with her) ANYways, she lives in Tacoma right now. Yesterday afternoon Beth laid down for a nap. She woke to odd sounds and muddy human footsteps in her house and her front door wide open, and Sophie gone! Sophie was about ten blocks from her house when I found her. She has been frantic for her. So was VERY happy when she got a call that Sophie had been found! She will be picking Sophie up as soon as she gets off work. (mostly because im not in a hurry for Sophie to go anywhere lol )
