Sepp is going to be 8 months old on March 19th... and he does a totally reliable "sit-stay"!!!

Maybe that's no big deal, I don't know... but since he's pretty young - I'm excited. :P
I can throw his most favorite toy, or a really great treat... and he won't move until I tell him "okay". We started inside and went on to the parking lot in front of our house... yesterday we tried it at the park, while there were kids playing basket ball, and even with some other dogs around, about 30 feet away.
Of course his butt was just about spring-loaded, and he shook w/excitement, but he did not move - although he kept a very close eye on the toy/treat AND me... lol

The thing I love about him the most is that he will retrieve his ball and bring it straight back to me. Drops it at my feet and waits for me to throw it again. I usually make him work for it... he shakes my hand, gives me a high five, speaks or sits/stays.
It took me almost FIVE years to make a "retriever" out of Mick, and we went through a ton of ripped toys in the process. :rolleyes2:
Seppel is ALL about getting the toy as fast as possible and have me throw it again.
I think he's part Border Collie or Lab. :giggle:

But anyway - that's MY brag for the day. :)

That's awesome! Hannah still doesn't have a reliable stay...couldn't have anything to do with the fact that I've never worked on it with her

With such a great retrieve, you need to get that boy into flyball!

Woohoo! Congrats! I think it's great that a dog that age can hold a sit stay so well!!!!!!

So now...where do I send Magic so you can train him???

Scooter is usually pretty reliable, but we haven't worked on it in a while - Magic....wellllllll only if I have a hold of him.

Good job Christine - a reliable sit/stay at 8 months is a very BIG BRAG
