I won't lie -- at that point I was SERIOUSLY ready to make her hurt. BAD. :grind:

If I ever see her again, we're going to have a little discussion in the parking lot.

All I can say is thank god the receptionists saw the whole thing from beginning to end, so at least I'm covered.

And YES!!! Hooray for new skin!!! :woowoo:

Yippee for new skin! Gremlin likes looking at Indy's boo-boo threads so she can see all his cool bandages. I let her come on after her homework is done to read them. She wasn't the least bit grossed out by the thread with his post op pictures, she had too many questions.

Next time you run into that wack-a-noodle with her hystaronics, just tell her it's not your dog she has to worry about, it's his owner she should be concerned with. Then give her an evil grin and stare at her.

Thats the worst to be in the middle of that, sometimes all I want to say to people is "GET OVER IT!". I have clients throw hisseys like that occaisionally and its such a difficult position to be in :neutral:

Had we been out in public, she would've been in some serious trouble. BUT, out of respect for where I was, I tried to behave. Not so successful, but I did try, LOL.

Anyway, it's over and done, today's a new day, and all that matters is Indy's doing better!!!

Oh, when I see a client who's bitching at another dog, if the dog is human friendly I just get on my knees and start fussing and telling them that he's a good dog etc. Usually that shuts them up, seeing how sweet the other dog is...

That lady needed a good kick in the crotch. Or Indy coud have made her topple over with his paddle.

Well, fingers crossed! Dr Blabs changed his bandage today and we're not going back until Monday! :helloClap:

His boo-boo looks MUCH better and much smaller now. One side of it has a LOT of skin growing over and the other sides are slowly catching up.

Interesting "side effect" of all the bandaging -- his dew claw has been wrapped tightly to his leg due to the bandages. The flesh around the area where the dew claw is pressed into his leg is swollen and he has a divot in his leg shaped exactly like the dew claw. It's kinda like when you clench your hand and your nails cut into your palm, only Indy doesn't have the option to "unclench", so the flesh is starting to get irritated. Dr Blabs trimmed his claw back as much as possible and has padded out his claw, so right now we're just keeping an eye on it. It's not infected, but it looks kinda gross and is probably uncomfortable for Indy. Unfortunately, due to the location of the surgery site, his dew claw has to remain bandaged for now.

Just got back and it looks like we're going to try and stretch his next change until FRIDAY!!! :rock:

Dr Blabs is very happy with how his Big Boo-Boo looks -- lots more skin and it all appears very healthy. I meant to bring the camera today for comparison pics, but I forgot it. :rolleyes2:

We're hoping to go for a softer bandage (no splint) in the next week or so and that's a REALLY big step in the healing process. Dr Blabs also brought up a very good point: at this time, the more the bandage is changed, the more chance there is of taking off healthy tissue with the bandage, even though a non-stick pad is being used. There is no oozing of the wound, so it's staying dry by itself and the deep fissures are starting to fill-in, so it's time to not change the bandage so often.

His dew claw is still looking a bit funky, but it's not quite as swollen. However, it is getting more oozy, so we're putting him on acidophilus supplements in the hopes that will help with any possible yeast infection under the toe. He's still on antibiotics, so we don't have to worry about infection.

I will try to remember the camera Friday.
