I am sorry to say, that my friend, Gerda, had to let Sugar go yesterday.
Sugar's life started when Gerda rescued her. There were reports of a dog left alone, and tied up in the woods. When Gerda and a friend found her, she had one of those horrible chains around her neck, and her "leash" was only 2 feet long. She was on her deathbed.
Living with Gerda was truly a blessing for Sugar. She was a Pet Therapy Dog with my Louie at the Assisted Living Facility. She traveled all over the east coast, first class. Sugar was the Ambassador at the private shelter that Gerda started. A "plain old Pit Bull" like Sugar, convinced more people to rescue another one. Her personality was sweet and unwavering.
She was the reason I rescued Darlene Linguine and learned more about the breed.
We are devestated at the loss of this beautiful soul.
Sugar is the beautiful brindle on the right.
