New Pieces...Mattie from TX & a Mad Max Dog (Aussie Heeler?)

A place for all of our artists to show their work.

Postby Moe » February 28th, 2009, 8:42 pm

This is my Aunt's dog Mattie Lynn...Not sure if I posted her or not...My scanner washed her out a bit...

Image

His name is Storm...I think hes an Aussie Heeler...But he looks like the dog in the Mad Max movies...The image that was sent to me was a scanned picture...So not much detail to it...

WOW!! You have some serious talent. As always, the eyes in your pieces absolutely captivate me.

I love your work. How long does it take to complete a piece?

Thanks :D
It depends, anywhere from an hour and a half to 2 hours (if I work without taking breaks)...If its a really detailed photo with background and scenery, it can take 3 to 3.5 hours...

I can generally get 2 pieces done in one day and start on a third....Again depending on how my day is..And I usually walk away from the piece to tend to dogs, kids, husband and house... :)

Not that I know much about "the medium"...if that is what it is called, but is it pencil or charcoal or something like that? They look so life-like.

They look wonderful...:)

BTW, it's an Australian Cattle Dog, or Blue/Red Heeler. The term Aussie is usually used for Australian shepherds.

I just love your work. I was telling my hubby just last night that when I add to my tattoo, I'm going to have you design it.
