Good job Jen, Indy, and Dr.Blabs!
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.

How's everybody recovering this morning? Indy from his surgery, and you from your stress?

Indy is doing well today. He's acting like the big splint on his leg doesn't even exist -- he keeps trying to "run" on three legs with the splinted leg just banging around next to him. :rolleyes2: :lol3: Guess the pain meds and anti-inflammatories are making him feel REAL good! :D

We're heading back to the vet every day for splint/bandage changes and Indy is spoiled rotten there. He gets to just hang out in the treatment room. I had to leave him there for most of the day due to a funeral we had to attend and Indy pulled one of his favorite tricks -- Dr Blabs told me he whined for a good solid hour this morning (the tramadol makes him REALLY whiney), but every time they looked at him he shut up and was like "What? I'm not doing anything." lol

Thanks everyone for the votes of confidence!

When I got to work today, Indy was already set up in with not one, but two HUGE comforters in a nice comfy bed. He pretty much looked like a King. And, well, let's be honest.... he is.

I couldn't believe my eyes at how well Indy was getting around and how truly great he looked. :heartbeat: Had I had the same surgery, you couldn't get me to be happy for NOTHING! :storm: But there was this brave soul, coping, adapting, and giving the best attitude! :loveU: He is just so lovable and inspiring. :groupHug: It makes my job worthwhile to have stellar patients like him, and owners like Jen and her hubbie. :beerChug:

And yes, he did whine this morning. :ROFL2: But, when we looked over to make sure he was ok, he looked so innocent as if to say, "I didn't say nuthin', man". :neener: Either that, or he was fawned all over and loved/snuggled each time, which he immediately figured out how to work the staff into more of that!

He really does look fantastic considering all that he went through. I wish I could be that brave and strong.

 GO INDY!!!!!

They do adapt in a hurry. He will have Jenn trained in no time

Trouble's vet tech (the one who doesn't let anyone else work on Trouble) calls her "my love". Of course Trouble thinks that is the greatest thing :rolleyes2: Sound's like Indy is falling right into the same 'special' treatment. But, God, they're worth it.

Have a speedy recovery big guy!

I'm so glad Indy isn't fazed by this at all, it won't be long before we've all almost forgotten this ever happened. :)

Indy is doing quite well -- he's acting like nothing ever happened! He's funny when he's clumping around with his club foot (splinted leg). He'll clump around for a little bit then suddenly stop and look at his club as if the thing is following him and he can't figure out WHY. :lol3:

He's got some tummy issues from all the meds, but he's on Flagyl and chicken & rice, so that should clear up soon.

Dr Blabs has let me come into the treatment room to watch the bandage changes. I have to say that I'm rather proud of myself because I haven't barfed or passed out while looking at the open wound. It's actually really kind of neat -- the wound itself is about the size of a quarter and there are small diamond-shaped incisions all around the area about a 1/4 inch from the edges of the wound site. Those small incisions allow the skin to stretch and hopefully close over the wound as it's healing.

The incision on his back and the one inside his elbow look GREAT! He's healing SO fast. Dr Blabs seems quite pleased about the healing process at the tumor site, too -- I think it's because she's a kick-ass surgeon. :D

Oh, and I have to say that I am THE LUCKIEST person in the world to have Dr Blabs as my veterinarian. She came in today on her only day off JUST to change Indy's bandage. Can't ask for more dedication to patients than that!
:bowWave: :bowWave: :bowWave:

And please send out good thoughts for Dr Blab's Stewie the Hooey -- he had cherry eye surgery the other day and is doing great!!!
