Adopt Max!

Postby Judy » January 9th, 2009, 10:05 pm

Hi! My name is Max!

I am 12 years old and I am a surivor of testicular cancer. My friend Renee is a shelter volunteer who takes takes me to the park and says that I have the biggest heart ever. She enjoys walking me so much as I don't pull, in fact I walk very well on-leash.

I am really just a big cuddly snugglebug who greets everyone with my enthusiastic tail wagging! I know how to sit, shake, and up (as in getting up onto the couch).

I'm not too fond of cats, but I don't mind most other dogs (as long as they aren't trying to hump me). I'm laid back and playful at the same time. I like to go for walks, play, then take naps.

If you would like to stop by and visit me, I enjoy bully sticks and peanut butter treats.

Please help spread the word and help me find a family :wave2:

Love,
Max

Renee, you must know the background of Joyce's cat story in order to appreciate this.

What a great looking boy. He has the most gentle eyes I have ever seen

I hate seeing those old timers in shelters

Well, my cat story is that Lucy, our "cat" lived with 6 pits and 5 other cats... she hated it, she hated her owner, but fell in LOVE with my BF. So we kind of stole her from our old landlord :)

If I could have a dog, you are looking at him. He is the other man in my life. I love him so much! Judy & I get our fair share of pits to chose from at the shelters, but Max is special. I totally don't hold it against people for not being cat people, what I don't get is people who aren't DOG people. Honestly Lucy is more like I pillow... maybe someday I'll share her cuteness with everyone.

So, I talked to the folks at the shelter today, when I went to play catch with Max, and they say he REALLY needs a foster, if not a permanent home. They say he is getting depressed, which you would be too if you were stuck inside all day. He still perks right up when he sees, me and our time together seemed to have a lasting satisfaction, but I can only get down there to see him Thursday-Sunday. If anyone knows of someone who would even be willing to foster Max, can you let me know? I'm not sure how it works through the MSPCA, but I have the email for the girl in charge of the foster program (and they may make special exceptions for him because of his age and breed, though I'm not sure).
Thanks!
Renee
