PLEASE pray to the furnace Gods for us

Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Postby mnp13 » January 8th, 2009, 4:56 pm

It's a balmy 53 degrees in our house right now.

The relay switch on our furnace finally crap the bed, it's been sticking occasionally for a while, usually I just whack it and it clicks and everything is fine. Well, no amount of wacking is working today.

So, they are on their way now (there is no such thing as a non-emergency furnace call in the winter) the fix is not going to be fast, easy or cheap. They don't usually keep relays for 20 year old boilers in their trucks. And of course I only realized the problem 10 minutes ago, so they will almost definately be here after 5, so it will go from expensive an hour to brutal an hour.

Honestly, I'd wait until tomorrow to have them come in, my last house was between 43 and 45 for over a month when that furnace broke. You just get used to it and add a few layers :| However, Demo gets all annoyed when I do stuff like that. :crazy2:

So, let's all hope that my diagnosis of the problem is incorrect... but I'm pretty sure it isn't. :(

I wonder if they take CareCredit? lol

Here's good thoughts to the Furnace Gods! May it be a simple fix!

Dear furnace god,

Please send Michelle, and her whole crew a furnace repair man in a great mood, and with all the necessary tools to repair their furnace at a decent cost.

Michelle, offer a beer or some cookies or something......

And if he's attractive, that would help, too. That way when she gets completely RAPED by the pricetag, she can see a handsome face.

Good luck! Things like that always make me appreciate being married to an electrician!

hmmmm.... I didn't think of that!

But, it's a "little" cold in here for that. Is there such thing as a pin up snow suit?

The main controller for the furnace went. I was 80% right, I just picked the wrong controller as the problem. It's down to 50 in here now.

Bye-bye new washer, dryer, and TV. :sad3: :bigCry:

Or, maybe... Demo is more attached to clean, dry clothes and watching movies than he is to being toasty warm???
