We're losing Petey

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

Postby Hoyden » January 5th, 2009, 1:01 pm

We took him to the vet this morning because his eye was red swollen and yucky.

He has glaucoma and he's full of cancer, his brain, his lungs, his spleen & his liver is shutting down. None of those are the primary spots though.

Aggressive treatment will give him six months.

We're bringing him home later today, keeping him comfortable as long as we can, then we have to let him go.

My parent's dog, Abby died the Tuesday before Christmas. Gremlin told us Abby was waiting for Petey.

I'm sorry I had to cut you off earlier Noel. You know I'm here for you guys with whatever you need. Petey is such an awesome boy. He's changed a lot of people's opinions on pit bulls over the years (along with the aggressive Gremlin of course), and was wonderful at making sure that Wally was always sparkly clean with pitty spit whenever we came to visit.

I'll call you again when I get out of work. I'm so sorry. Sending my hugs to you, Autumn, Gremmy, Mark, and Birdie. And please give Petey some extra love from his Aunty Alyssa when he gets home.

*hugs*
