Hi! Just wanted to say hello! I adopted Lucy from Michelle (forum owner) in October. I can not express how much I love this dog...she is just the best! The first week of "silent treatment" from my husband has been the most difficult hurdle. She found her way into his heart around the second week. Today, I caught them napping together on the couch! She is quite a character! We are truly blessed to have her! I never for a moment thought I would be the owner of a pit bull. Prior to owning Lucy, I had very little experience with the breed (have had 6 black labs in my 44 years) so admittingly had some hesitation. I have made it a point to find out as much as I can about Pit Bulls characteristics and have come to respect the breed for what they are. We won't be going to any dog parks, you won't see Lucy off a leash and I make it a point for Lucy to sit when anyone approaches us. The back yard fence is scheduled for the spring. I have found this forum very helpful training Lucy and understanding the breed. She is so loving it is such a joy to have her!
Thanks Michelle!
Chris

Welcome :wave2: I'm going to try and break this to you gently. You are hopelessly attached to the breed. They grab your heart and never let go. They are awesome pets.

YAY!!!!! You're here!

I'm so glad that you took her in, I couldn't have asked for a better adopter. I was beyond anxious about finding a good home for her and then you found [ i]me[/i]!

Oh, and you might want to check out Miss February: http://www.cafepress.com/rubypress/6167021

I am SO stoked! I've just learned that Lucy is Junie's (my little spitfire) sister!!! :D

Looking at your pics it's like I am looking right AT Junie! The white on their chest is almost identical.

Your kidding..I'd love to see her! Post some pictures! I knew she had a sister. (two actually but I knew one did not make it) I was not sure where she ended up. How is she now. I heard she had a few steep vet bills. We were luck that Lucy was spared that. Do you have any other pets? We have a 13 year old lab that Lucy likes to bully a bit and a 4 year old cat that can't figure out what to do with the new pup. My sister is a foster care provider for Lollypop and had the 2 brothers till the end of October. They were adoreable..she wanted to keep one but the whole fostering thing would have to come to an end if she did.

This is great news!
Chris
