Hello everyone :wave2: We (Bob, Shanna & mostly Trouble) can't thank you enough for all the good wishes, healing vibes, and kind words over the last 48 hours.

We just received an update from the vet's office. Trouble is in amazing spirits. She's sitting up with her ears perked up, responding to them when anyone approaches the cage. She's up walking (hobbling) right now. They are amazed at her progress and her spirit.

We are thrilled she is doing so well and so happy with the veterinary care she is receiving. These folks are really outstanding, from the vet(s) to front desk staff. We couldn't ask for a more supportive team. You cannot imagine how surprised I was to get an update at 6PM on the day before a holiday. Wow, what a great choice we made.

Keep us in your thoughts as we await the biopsy results.

Trouble is home and in great spirits. She tires very easily trying to
get around. We have taken the bed out of our bedroom so that she will
not be tempted to jump up or down before she has had some time to build
some strength.

The vet is amazed with her progress and her spirit. He anticipates she
will have no problems at all, she did so well at the clinic. The
sutures are all desolvable. She will not need a followup visit unless
she develops a problem. The biopsy results should be back in just a few
days, and then we'll consult about the next step. For now our only
concern is to help her heal.

We had a McDonalds picnic in the back of the car when we got home. Her
last snacky stuff. It's time to pull some of the weight off, so she
will be able to get around more easily.

We can only hope we adjust as quickly as she does. There is a fine line
between helping her as she recovers and making her permanently dependent
on us.

She sends slurpies to all of you!

Her incision looks great and the bruising doesn't look too bad. I'm glad to hear she is home and in good spirits! :hug3:

I think the incision looks great compared to some I've been looking at online. It doesn't appear to be bothering her much. She lays on it without any sign of pain.

The surgery site looks pretty good. It is amazing how quickly dogs adapt to three legs if we let them.

They don't see it as a disability and adapt to having only three legs very, very quickly.
