I just joined the group today.
I was using the Pit Bull Chat forum, but find them to be very argumentative for the most part.
I have a deaf APBT (adopted), a boxer mix (rescued), and a Mini Bull Terrier.
I work with a group called Dogs Deserve Better as well as other rescues in my area.
Many of the pit bull chat members were bashing me just because my siggy had dogsdeservebetter.org in it. I wasn't asking any of them to join or preach my beliefs to them.
I posted Ginger for adoption who Is a Pit Bull rescue that came to me with an embedded collar. She was a chained dog. Her owner was obviously irresponsible. That post (just to find Ginger a home) started a huge debate on chaining and got really ugly (I posted twice) the rest was them fighting amongst themselves.
I hope this group isn't like that. I would love to be a part of a pro pit bull group where I can ask health questions and just chat with others who love the breed as I do, without arguing all the time.

Glad to be here!!

Welcome to the forum! I am sure you will enjoy it here. :)

I only met one deaf dog in my life (a Dalmation) and the owner used hand signals, but I swear the dog had ESP and knew what to do before he was instructed.

As for your group, Dogs Deserve Better, I looked at the Cafe Press items and some of the photos/drawings, broke my heart. BUT we are not allowed to discuss "other stuff" in an introduction thread, so I will be quiet now.

Of course, I'm a clicker trainer, you must fit the reinforcement to the individual...that's one thing I am good at. ;) No fake cheerios for you!

Ahem...and welcome to TM again also... :wave2: (see, back on topic!) I forgot to mention before, we had a deaf JRT on our flyball team for a while...until she retired due to problems with her back. She also did agility...she was so cool!

Thanks everyone. Yes, Tripp knows some hand signals, but he's also really smart and he follows the lead of my other 2... If they take aoof barking at something passing by the house, he goes right after them. He is a really gentle, loving guy. :P

I LOVE Tripp's face! That dark ring reminds me of Petey from "Our Gang".

Uh...Tripp is the white one, correct?

We argue sometimes but we are all still friends in the end. Actually they always argue with ME because they cannot deal with the fact that I am always right. :)
