Barney Bites Back and Teaches Children

Reuters television White House correspondent Jon Decker reports that President Bush's dog Barney, going on a walk this morning on the North Lawn, let his reaction to the news show.

He "bit my right index finger this morning -- as I reached down to pet him," Decker said. The bite broke skin and the wound was bleeding enough to prompt White House physician Dr. Richard Tubb to treat Decker with antibiotics. He will also be getting a tetanus shot.

If you watch the video on the website, you can see that Barney's body language is very clear and that reporter was oblivious.

Our local news used the video as an opportunity to teach children how NOT to approach a dog.

Was Barney quaranteened for 10 days? Was he deemed "dangerous"? Was he up-to-date on all his shots, including rabies?

Inquiring minds want to know. :D

Here's my favorite part "Yes, it's all fun and games until Barney, who now has the thirst for journalist blood, strikes again, which will be hopefully soon".

I just came across this and WHOA  at all the people defending Barney.

I guess I'm just used to reading pit bull news: I was expecting torches and pitchforks and commands to exterminate all Scotties, everywhere.
Time to nut up or shut up.
