Not sure if I will get any responses here but didn't know where to ask it. Move if necessary.

I have now firgured out that the only thing, excercise wise, that Kinzyl enjoys is walking. I am trying to find something that would help her lose a little bit more weight and keep her in shape. I am looking for a doggie backpack. I could put some water bottles in in for weight. I do not want a fancy one but the one I saw at Petsmart looked so uncomfortable. I was going to go and see if I could make one but I don't know if the fabric store would have a pattern. Can someone stear me in the right direction for something affordable. If anyone has one that they are not using anymore and would like to sell it. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

Mick has this one - http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/1041 ... dium-.html

It's very comfortable, and you can pack tons of stuff in there. He's had it for about two years and it's very rugged and still in excellent condition. :)

I ordered Inara one from Jeffers Pet (I'm addicted to them - dirt cheap!) and it's very rugged. Just make sure whichever one you decide on, that the weight is more up by her front end than down her entire back. And start with light things in it at first. And watch out as she'll probably bump into you, doors, walls, etc while she's wearing it. :giggle:

Let me know what size/dimensions you want...and I'll look through my stuff. I have a bunch of backpacks...(more than I can ever use)...because I got some for $5 at Petsmart two summers ago at the end of the season.

I THINK Inara's is a medium, and she's 50 lbs.

Kinzyl is down to 58 pounds. How do I measure her for size. She doesn't mind wearing clothes so I think she would really not mind a backpack. I guess if I am going to add weight to her I need to start wearing my ankle weights. :D We tried the flirt pole and either I am not doing it right or I need to find a live squirrell to put on the end. She is just not interested in anything. I put a sock which she loves but she catches it and then it is a game of tug-o-war and I lose. :(

We use a broom as Justices flirt pole. She goes insane when I pick up ANY broom. She will play for a while, jumping & snapping & trying to catch it. I let her catch it sometimes then we play tug. Like you, I lose. AND if I dont tug with her fast enough she runs into me full force, knocks me on my butt & takes it. She so does not play fair.
There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.
