Flood *pics*

Anything that doesn't fit into the other three catagories

Postby AllAmericanPUP » September 15th, 2008, 8:58 pm

yesterday morning we got a ton of rain and it ended up flooding half the town. Nothing horrible but alot of flooded streets and some businesses plus alot of basements and yards.

we got about 3-4 feet of water in our basement and at least a foot or more in the front yard and the back yard and the garage at one of my parents houses.
so everything that was in the basement got ruined plus the stuff we had in the garage and the poor doggies were standing in about 6 inches of water before I realized it was flooding outside but i rushed out as soon as I realized it and put their crates up out of the water

obviously not as bad as the people who lost their homes down south from the hurrican but just thought i'd share..

About how much water ended up in the basement? That really sucks. I hope there wasn't anything expensive down there!!

wow, that's a lot of water!!!

I have a small bright side for you...

In my last house we had a bad rainstorm one day. Inches of water per hour and many basements in the area flooded. Mine did as well. There was a main storm drain in front of my house and it was completely full and the rain water was inches deep on the street. All that water created a lot of back pressure, which pushed sewer back into my house... human sewer. I found a couple of "gifts" on my basement floor. Let's just say I used many many many many many gallons of bleach for that cleanup.
