Mel, one of the Parole Board Hearing Officers that worked in the Cleveland region, died suddenly on Friday. So far there are no details. Mel has been there since long before I started and he helped teach me the proper way to do hearings. He wouldn't hesitate to ream out an offender that was acting like an idiot. There are several times he gave my guys prison time because, as he stated, they were "headlines waiting to happen."
I really respected Mel and he'll be sorely missed. If you don't mind, please keep his family in your thoughts.

I'm sorry Good thoughts sent out to Mel's family, friends, and those he has touched through his work

Thanks again, all. Apparently it was a massive heart attack. He was in his mid-forties. Scary.

"But banning a breed won't stop dog attacks. People have to be aware of their dog's temperaments and make sure they have control of their pets through obedience classes and behavior training."
