My cousin is putting his 6 year old Pit Bull, Chubbs to sleep today.
He's been in chronic liver failure for awhile now. After rounds and rounds of antibiotics, raw diets, pathogens, and hundreds of other drugs, it's finally time to say goodbye. They tried everything they could to save him. He is suffering tremendously.
I have never seen a dog affect so many people's lives. From my 80 year old grandmother to proud pit bull "haters". One by one Chubbs won them over one by one with his happy-go-lucky attitude, super smile and gentleness. Chubbs is the reason I became a pit bull owner myself. I was a little apprehensive when my cousin told me he was going to get a pit bull for his family. After meeting Chubby, he inspired me to start researching the breed. What I found shocked me! Pit bulls are great dogs! I now am the proud owner of my Layla.
So, rest in peace my friend. Have a wonderful trip over the Rainbow Bridge. Thank you for being so gentle with Bella when she was an infant. Thank you also for the late-night naps when we cuddled on the floor when I couldn't stay awake during our routine Friday night get-togethers.
Love,
Aunt Jenny
P.S. - Please keep my cousin, his wife and their two young sons in your prayers. They are all devastated.
