Beautiful Older Cat for Adoption

Postby BullyLady » August 26th, 2008, 7:34 pm

Hey all, my sister in law needs to rehome her cat. She has a 5 moths old baby girl
and about a week ago the baby whacked the cat, by flailing (as babies often do), just
as the cat was jumping up onto the couch. The cat hissed at the baby (I probably
would too!) and now my sister in law feels that her baby's health is in jeopardy and
that the cat needs to be rehomed. I'm not sure I agree, but the alternative is that
Meeko will be euthanized, so I would rather help her find a good forever home.

Meeko is about 5 years old, she is not the loviest cat in the world but can be very
affectionate at times. She is really low maintenance, just what people normally think
of when they think of kitties. :) Her mom was a chinchilla persian so she has a little
bit of a flat face and the softest fur you have ever felt in your life! She is up to
date on vaccinations and spayed, and has no known health problems at this time.

PM me if you or anyone you know is interested, I am in Eastern Washington State but
would be willing to do some driving/shipping!

Oh, she's a LOVELY cat!

No offense, but smack your sister-in-law for me.

No offense taken, I think the whole thing is silly but I'm not the mom so it doesn't matter what I think!

wow, that cat is stunning...and i normally don't like cats, so i just suprised myself with that :D

how frustrating for you to have to stomach your sister in law and her blatant disrespect for her animals. what a shame...sorry that you have to be the clean up crew. I hope she doesn't get anymore animals!

She is beautiful... I wish I didn't have so much crap going on right now, I would take her in a second.

How is she around dogs?

Well she's never been around Bailey (cause Bailey isn't allowed out!) but she has been around my dogs and she did fine. She didn't like them, but she held her own and let them know when she'd had enough, she wasn't overly scared at all. She's kind of a bitch, but I guess I like that in a cat.

*UPDATE*

So they have decided to keep the cat and just watch how the baby behaves around
her. I hope that that is truly how it goes, otherwise I will be reupdating this for her
to find a new home again. Thanks for all your interest and talking to people, I appreciate
it it!!

Seriously. For real.
Now that we're getting a Sophie I can certainly handle a Meeko. Keep us in mind. :wave2:

Good thing you have such a big apartment. You're gonna have a zoo :)

I will let them know! Seriously.... people on this board are awesome. I'm not sure that any animals have been adopted out on my other boards, people here really mean business about rescuing. It warms my heart. :)

I seriously thought you were gonna say they were gonna keep the cat & give away the baby! I think I need sleep..............
