It is scheduled to air again on Wednesday if you missed it.

It was good. VERY graphic at times but sent a good message about the dogs and the breed. I know Donna from BadRap has said it contained too much dog fighting info but it is nothing you cant find with a simple search online. I did not like the amount of dog fight footage that was shown. I think you could have gotten the message across with out it all. But overall I give it a thumbs up! :highfive:

All roads lead to the HSUS when it comes to that "documentary" -- and of course the HSUS wanted the Vick dogs dead.

Take a look at the "resouces" Animal Planet's webpage lists for the show. They all go back to HSUS.

here's a copy:

I am recommending that people go to http://www.BlueDogState.com

The Animal Planet show is designed to heighten dogfighting hysteria. Hysterical people who have been "educated" by TV entertainment and websites full of lies aren't what we need.

I'm waiting to hear back from my mom...who is not involved in the BSL fight so much...it was hard to distance myself and not sit there and say "boo...PETA..." and such.

It'll be interesting to see what the non pit-bull owning, BSL fighting dog people think of it...if it changed minds at all.

I only saw the last 30 minutes of it. I didn't like the fighting footage either but I hope the over all message got to some people. That our dogs are good.

Hysteria for any point is not good. I don't have the patience to go through all of those links and see what it is that you are objecting to, would you please elaborate on all of them?

Why is BlueDogState any better?

I watched this documentary last night.

It was really well done. I couldn't watch the fighting part so I was crocheting at the same time to.

Donna and Bad Rap did a great job about showing how Pit bulls really are. That one dog Lou really touched my heart.

Michael Vick has paid, but I still don't think he's paid enough ... I don't think he really knows what he did wrong. He was just saying what he thought people wanted to hear. He is a product of the his envoriment and the way they did things around where he was raised at.

The last statement that was made was touching, I can't remember off hand, but it went like this "that the dogs no matter how they are treated, they still show unconditional love" which is so so true ..

Yep, I know... I think he does know, but doesn't regret what he did. He made some big bucks w/that "business".
And hired some good PR people afterwards who told him what to say and how to act. :bs:

I have mixed feelings on the documentary...I think it was well done, I echo the sentiment of too much dog fighting information, but I do have issue with the documentary as a whole...I went to the website to check the links...I have some strong feelings against the documentary because the HSUS is not a friend of pit bull owners.

I honestly have no idea if it has done a good thing or a bad thing for pit bull owners...I actually read on another forum that someone wanted to support bsl because of the horrific fighting scenes...and this came from a pit bull owner...how many other people are going to feel the same way...ban the dog fighters, turn in your neighbor because they have a yard full of dogs and must be a dog fighter...call the ASPCA on your neighbor with the spring pole. I can see the potential for this documentary to be used as propaganda against the responsible pit bull owner.

I thought overall it was pretty good. I hated the fact that PETA was even on the program since they want our breed to become extinct. The dog fighting footage was difficult to watch and although they played alot of it I think people that are clueless on this issue needed to see it.

ETA: I scored excellent ( 10 out of 10) on the quiz...

I DVRd this and I plan on watching but I've been hesitant because I really don't want to see the dogfighting footage. I think the message can be put out there without so much of that :(

Same here. I barely made it through Off the Chain without vomiting, so I'd rather not see any more of it.

I have talked to a couple of people ( NON Pit bull owners) who won't watch it because they are not wanting to see the dog fighting clips. That is a shame because it ended with a good message & people are going to miss out on it.
