Hello, my name is Kate, Im from NJ, USA. In found this site from thisisruby.com I am mommy to a 6 year old pit bull fixed male named Hart, and an almost 2 year old human child named Astrid. I am in love with pit bulls... I cannot imagine any better dog out there. I am a foster mom as well, I have fostered 2 girl pits in the last few months. Hart doesn't like other males much...
Here is a pic

Hi, Kate... welcome to PBT! :wave2:

Your boy is handsome... and I like the name Astrid. :)

How'd you become interested in Pit Bulls? How'd you end up w/Hart? Was he a rescue?

Thanks, i have had a mixed reaction, to my daughter's name, either people love it or hate it (and amazing to me that ppl who hate it cant just keep their mouths shut? lol)
Hart came from a city pound at age 1.5, poor boy was a stray- started my now life long obsession with these wonderful beasts.
The best $65 i have ever spent...

Hello! I decided to get a pit bull because I read they were the number one killed dog in this country and i felt bad...
SO for my FIRST dog, i adopted a teenage male pit, not the bet idea maybe as I had no idea what being "pack leader" meant, let alone how to train a dog.
I made a lot of mistakes the first couple years, I let me boy get away with way too much at first, but years of re-training and a lot of education on my part and now he is a pretty well adjusted and very well behaved boy (except around some males... were still working on that issue...)
Anyway i got into pits trying to save them and i got one, but now I am a foster mommy to girly pits, so i can help save many more. Im getting a new foster girl today, actually. :)

Hi Kate and welcome. :wave2:

You have to wait until Admin or a Mod shows up to allow you to post elsewhere. They will let you know in this post.

If we start talking trash about them, they usually show up fast.

Welcome!

I for one ADORE the name Astrid...I've loved it for years, but haven't found the right critter to stick it with. ;)

Hart is gorgeous, btw...more pics please!

And for some reason, the term "girly pits" is making me giggle...:giggle: Maybe 'cause mine are so hairy and non-girly right now...
