Pennsic XXXVII Pics!

Anything that doesn't fit into the other three catagories

Postby AllAmericanPUP » August 11th, 2008, 12:16 am

Okay like i said before, i did have a good time...but some of the people we camped with were just complete jerks and bossed me and my 2 brothers and my brothers girlfriend around like we were little kids just cause were younger, so that put a damper on things wich eventually leaded up to us going off on them and they finally backed off.
I also now have 2 dents and 2 scuff marks on my truck now thanks to the idiots that i so kindly hauled stuff for.
I hauled 6 other people stuff half way across the country and all I got was a half a$$ thank you from one of them and $20...
so needless to say next time i won't be hauling anyones stuff except our own.

anyways it's a very neat place to be.
between 10-15 thousand people attend everywhere and it's a 2 week long event but most people only come for the 2nd week cause thats when all the stuff happens.

basically Pennsic is truly centered around the war between the Middle and Eastern Relm.
we belong to the Middle relm obviously because we are from Illinois.
and according to all the regulars this year kinda sucked because for the first time in Pennsic History the Eastern Relm forfitted during the opening ceremony because there was a conflict within their relm.
So basically all the battles didnt mean anything, when normally people get war points for the battles they fight.
the battles till happened as scheduled but like i said they didn't stand for anything.

anyways enough babbling..here are some pics
in no real conherent order

I recall that security detail was a hot commodity because you get to ride around on the golf cart and steal alcohol from everybody's camp.

Glad you enjoyed!

Another SCAdian!!!

We're newbies this year, so we didn't go to Pennsic, but we will be going next year for sure. We've already started getting our gear together.

My husband fights heavy list and with some luck and quite a bit of work, I'll get authorized for combat archery. My maiden name is Thrower, so we're planning on building a siege engine for me and Birdie.

I'm completely fascinated with medieval hunting. If my Barony has their way next year, we will be doing a demo on the use of dogs in the medieval hunt at Pennsic next year.
