Henry the Handsome

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Postby Marinepits » August 5th, 2008, 8:55 am

This little guy was found in one of our local supermarkets, shoplifting produce. No one came forward for him and we weren't able to trace his band, so I adopted him.

He's quite sweet and VERY chatty.

Katy is very curious about him and keeps trying to stick her nose into his cage. Indy treats the cage like it's another television and just sits in front of it, watching Henry flit about. Both Shorty and Mac see LUNCH, so they're not allowed too close, and Tucker wants nothing to do with Henry.

he is just beautiful!!!! look at the color!!! I have two adopted parrots and just adore birds!

our dogs have never showed an interest in what is in the cage ..but think that under the cage is a buffet!!! all kinds of things get tossed out of the cage and they hoover it all up

They dropped a box over him, LOL.

Thanks, ladies. I'm quite smitten with him. :D

Does anyone know if woodstove fumes are harmful to birds, like Teflon cookware is? I can't find any information about it online and we're still looking for an avian vet.

ooh...pretty.

I had a parakeet when I was a kid. It was not nearly as cool as I thought it would be. Darn thing wouldn't even sit on my finger. All he did was bite me. He died while I was on vacation (someone was coming in to check on all the animals). I'm much better with dogs.

He's a budgie/parakeet. The band on his leg says CT07, so he's probably just over a year old. Plus, his "cere" (the fleshy part over his beak) is just now changing from a pinkish-purply-blue to more blue, so that means he's maturing. If the cere is pink or tan/brown, that would make him a female.

Well, Katy just learned NOT to stick her nose at the cage. Henry gave her a nice little *bip* on the snoot. :lol3:
