PS: that Dogo is AWESOME! He totally tore Rob to bits, if you can't tell from the pics. LOL! His suit definitely suffered, talk about a hard biting dog. Maybe Brit can get some pics of the nice bruise on his arm . . .

I moved this to the Sports section for you.

Awesome pics! That Dogo - wow! I'd love to see more pics of him. In the one pic he looked like a white panther (2nd pic of him).

They actually tell his owner to "Bring out the lion" when it's time to work him. I heart Sam.

Bandit..... :loveU: :yum:

I love the look on the decoy's face when the Dogo is biting :lol3:

Out of curiosity, what is the breeding on the blue puppy? Blue is going to be the new fad in Mals, I'm seeing it pop up more and more. I'd never seen one until a friend purchased one a few year ago.

I'm not sure of the breeding but I can tell you that there were no other blue pups in the litter, and neither of the adults were blue. Maybe Britney has more insight into the actual lines 'cause I have no clue . . .

I was talking to Greg...in reality, it's a genetic defect. It's a recessive trait that you don't often see. However, a breeding that produced quite a few "blue" mals was one between Ricardo (PH1, PSA3) x Winnie (PH1). Ricardo (v. Natuurzicht) was a malinois, and I traced his lines back as far as I could (I got to about the 1950's), but found nothing odd mixed in. Winnie was a Dutch Shepherd (brindle), however, I couldn't find anything about her lines when I looked - I was actually going to talk to Jerry about her lines (since Jerry owned Ricardo)

ETA...Greg just showed me a site that has pedigrees on there (so cool)...so I looked up Winnie...most her lines (at least her father's side - they have no info on the mom) are all "mixed malinois," with 1 Tervuren in there...and Greg said this site is pretty accurate...

Blue is a recessive, dilute form of black so I'm sure that neither parent has to actually be blue in order to pass on the trait to their offspring. I'm just curious as to why they are popping up more and more and thought perhaps there was a bloodline connection somewhere.
Which site did Greg send you to? I know about Pawsvillage but have never used any of the others.

Interestingly, enough, for the black gene to come in, there needs to be groenendael mixed in.

http://www.bloedlijnen.nl

It's a pedigree database for Europe...most of the information is accurate because of the dog's "passport" to travel...
