Going for a walk in the middle of the day and not barking at ANYONE!
In the backpack is a can of dog food in each side wrapped in a hand towel.

~yes it was HOT! We didn't walk far, and he only wore his backpack for the first half of the walk~ :)

What a silly smirk

Yeah, it's dog food. lol It was sitting right there and seemed like a good weight ~ The two free cans that came with my last bag of Nature's Variety really came in handy! lol

Thanks for all the support and comments guys!

lol If he were stranded with the backpack, I'm sure he'd find a way to bust open those cans!

Awww, I just LOVE him!!! :heartbeat:

Does he do the little "strutting" thing when he wears his backpack? I've started filling ours w/bottled water, so Micks load gets progressively lighter on the way home. lol

I TOLD you that the both of you would master the no-barking-at every-stranger situation - awesome job!!!

He's kind of a "strutter" whenever he walks, he just loves it so much! I do think he likes it though, kind of like wearing a harness (that he's used to using instead).

That water bottle idea is a great one! I may have to employ that one (good way to recycle old bottles! :D)

Thanks for all the support and comments, everyone!

I like to use water bottles too.

Another nice idea...get "dry bags" from the camping store...used to put stuff in when kayaking/canoing to keep it dry. They're great for putting used poop bags in (the scent doesn't leak out)...and then you can put them in their backpack for them to hike out. :D

Ahh... great idea! I was wondering how I was going to be able to make him carry his own poop without stinking everything else up. lol

Thanks for the great advice!

Yeah, I don't actually have a dry bag...I just wrap it in LOTS :D of bags...but I keep meaning to get one. I used to go hiking with a dog hiking group...I fell out of the habit. One of the women recommended the bags...
