Woman, Boy Attacked By A Large Rottweiler

Greeneville, TN - A 23-year-old woman and her 12-year-old brother were treated at Laughlin Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 25, after they were attacked by a large dog on Hartshaw Drive.



A report filed by Deputy Sheriff Toby Price about 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, said the woman told officers she was walking along Hartshaw Drive to place a yard-sale sign when a large Rottweiler ran from the yard of a residence and attacked her.



The Sheriff's Department report said the woman suffered multiple bites in the attack.



Both victims were taken to Laughlin Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries, according to the report.



Her younger brother also suffered multiple dog bites when he ran to his sister's assistance after hearing her screaming, according to Deputy Price's report.



The dog was taken into custody by a Greene County Animal Control officer after the incident, according to the report, which indicated the animal's owner was not home when the attack took place.
