Guess what ran in front of the car ahead of me?

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Yes, the universe knows that my foster kittens are getting fixed next Tuesday and will be going their way, so what tries to get hit by the car in front of me on my way home? Sigh...

http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p181 ... kitten.jpg

With some patience and a lot of luck, I was able to pick her up and had to put her in my lunchbox because it was the only thing I had to transport her in. She's thin and a little dehydrated, and I'm crossing my fingers that those are just eye boogers rather than a lurking URI.

I am at my max with 2 foster dogs and wanted all the foster cats gone ASAP... Do I leave well enough alone and concentrate on this girl, or do I go back to the businesses where she ran from and try to find the rest of the litter? :|

I'm going to compromise. I'm going to the remodel business the kitten ran from and the Jiffy Lube where the kitten ran to and see if anyone knows where the litter is actually hanging out. Then *sigh* I will set up traps and see what I end up with.

I peeked in this morning and the kitten has tried to total her cage. :rolleyes2: Need some names:
Jiffy (for Jiffy Lube)
Paseo (the street she was trying to get killed on)
Snack/Lunch (since she had to ride home in my lunchbox)

I may have to check out the name of the remodel business to see if that would be a good name...

:confetti:

I went and forced myself upon little Lunch (yes, I am that twisted) and not only did she lean into my hand, she purred and then didn't back away when she was at the front of the cage!!! Which, sadly, points to these kittens being owned/socialized to people rather than ferals... >(

Little miss Lunch lost her uterus today and is ready for adoption once her mystery case of uveitis clears up. :D

Great job! Thanks for getting her spayed.

Any potential homes for her?

Uveitis is something with the eyes. When I picked her up, one eye had almost a blood spot in it and the other pupil was fixed. Naturally, the next day her eyes were completely normal. :|

I went to the businesses the day after I found Lunch, and no one had seen any cats/kittens. Around the corner from the tile business is a so-so apartment complex & a couple of houses where I counted 5 cats just hanging around the yards/driveways. I didn't bother even approaching those houses because a) they might want the kitten back or b) they would try to give me 20 kittens. Call me coldhearted, but I don't want to know the extent of the cat population and or their s/n status.

I'm already kinda p-o'd about the foster cat situation because of $$. My free s/n option would have required me driving a minimum of 45 min each way the day before & the day after surgery to pick up, or I could just take them up the road to my mom's clinic & pay a reduced fee, so I took them to my mom's clinic. I may see a little money from my co-worker who took the gray kitten, but mom is free to a friend of mine as a barn cat and since she lost her job a few months back and is now working at OSH and is doing me a favor by not making mom cat go back to her POS owner, I don't feel right asking her for $. I will probably get something from the adoption fee of the lilac point kitten, but little miss Lunch is one of almost a dozen black kittens YCSPCA has right now, so I don't see her going anywhere soon.

I keep posting the kittens on craigslist and they get flagged off within a few hours, even though I'm asking $30 for spayed/neutered, tested, dewormed, deflea'd, box trained, socialized kittens. :crazy2: I give up! Miss Lunch will probably be free to good home if the lilac point kitten gets snapped up at adoptions this weekend, which I'm kind of counting on happening...

Lunch went to be fostered at another YCSPCA home while I'm boarding another cat waiting for an opening. Phew! :)
