10th Annual Dog Sports Open

Weight pull, Protection, Agility, Flyball... you name it!

Postby mnp13 » June 18th, 2008, 8:28 pm

THIS YEAR THERE WILL BE AN OBEDIENCE ONLY CATAGORY!!!

http://www.ccdsa.info/dogsportsopen.html

There is not information up about the obedience only part, but I just asked her on her discussion list and she said she's going to do it and "see how it goes."

If you are ANYWHERE near St. John's Michigan, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend making the trip. Even if you don't do bitework, just doing the obedience is a challenge in and of itself. It's also a "training trial" so if you have problems with a certian exercise they actually stop the tournament and work with you. No matter what happens, you and your dog leave the field as winners.

I'll keep you updated!

Au contrare....

Since there is now an obedience only catagory, both Layla and Ruby will be out on the field being judged and competing with the other dogs.

Layla has done agility, she'll be fine. The biggest problem is getting your dog's attention with distractions and getting them to do things like ride in a golf cart, go over a giant A frame, etc. She's done tons of stuff like that

As of right now, the plan is to leave on Thursday morning, which will give us plenty of time for the drive, and then head home on Monday morning. Of course, that might change, but that's the current schedule.

Come on people!!! I pushed for them to do the obedience only catagory, they had considered it in the past but I begged after last year. So let's get it filled up! This trial is fantastic!

if you actually expect Layla to be out of the field, you better get your ass over to my house and start getting her obedience waaaaaay better.

she can climb a 60ft a-frame if she really wanted to, but obedience...please. Maybe we'll sign up for that adv. beginner class with you and Riggs on Monday nights... :|
