Quiet and Peaceful Passing

Postby madremissy » June 16th, 2008, 11:28 pm

I know I have been drama mama the last couple of days but.....
My best friend just called me and said that she had to be by her mom's side to sign a DNR. She has been battling ovarian cancer which spread in the last couple of months. They have done all that they could. Her body just can't handle anymore chemo and the infections are not taken care of with all the antibiotics they have tried. Well today the doctor said that it is time to make a decision. She let her mom answer all the questions and a DNR was her decision. They removed everything that was really sustaining her life except for pain meds and some antibiotics. I feel so bad. Her dad is going into the first stages of dementia so she is having to take care of him also. She (Wanda) is away from her family right now and needs lots of prayers for strength and support. Mary Jo, her mom, just needs prayers for a peaceful passing.

Good thoughts for your friend, and her family.

These are such amazingly difficult times. All of my thoughts and prayers to Wanda and her Mother for the strength to accept that which is to come, and for a quiet and peaceful release.

Hopefully Wanda and her family will find the strength required to get through these tough times and mom will have a peaceful end. What courage it takes to make that decision.
