Pittsburgh Zoo

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Went to Pittsburgh Zoo today - I won't go back. But it was fun seeing the animals. Enjoy!

As much as I love seeing the animals, I hate zoos. The animals always look so sad.

That's how I feel too. I love seeing the animals, and I think that people are more likely to try to protect something they've seen in real life. On the other hand, the majority of zoos just don't provide adequate space/enrichment for their animals. This one was really tiny - I was very disappointed.

The peacock sure looks proud and the rays are very pretty.

Komodo Dragon (in desperate need of a diet and a pedicure)

would YOU like to hold him down so someone can clip his nails? (you know their mouths contain bacteria that can (and does) give something a deadly infection in literally hours, right?)

I do agree with zoos, but there are lots around here that really work on habitat and enrichment...

I don't agree with "just a cage"

Still, I've never seen a Giraffe, now you have!
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.

There's not enough money in the world for me to tackle a Komodo dragon! I've watched the Discovery Channel. lol

You've never seen a giraffe? That just seems sad for some reason!
