She's looking for some help... she writes....
There are FOUR Pit Bulls, 3 at NNHS & one w/her, D'Ann has a very small state licensed rescue at her home.
"Duchess", 2-3 years old, vaccinated & wormed - to be spayed 6/17. She shows NO aggression that we have seen, plays well w/another dogs, is shy to meet men at first but warms up quickly - Duchess is quite willing to become your shadow very easily. She is hearing by the way.
Calin, a 4+/- year old, fully vetted & micro-chipped female (old pic but will get up-dates ASAP). She was adopted from NNHS & now has been taken from her home, owners charged w/neglect. She is physically okay, just pretty thin & is in a private foster home to re-build her personality. She plays well w/all other dogs/pups at this foster home & sleeps in bed w/her temporary Momma!
Zeus, approx 3 yrs old, male, no vetting as his owners moved away & left him tethered at the abandoned home. D'Ann has had children over to visit him, he seems to love their attention. He will allow D'Ann to remove his food/treat as D'Ann pleases & simply looks at me as she's an idiot! D'Ann "thinks" he has spent the majority of his life on a chain so she does not know of his house-manners, nor his ability to get along w/cats or small animals. He lived w/a female Basset that was tethered nearby & when she was allowed loose, he was fine w/her coming onto his territory. He will be euthanized within 2 wks as she's past her limit to bring more to her home & the neighbors will not continue to feed him any longer than that.
JAMES - approx 3 yr old male, basic vaccs/de-worming & Rabies vaccine - needs neutered - D'Ann's vet clinic called to see if she could find Rescue for this wonderful guy that was brought in for boarding & after 2 months never claimed. She did so but when she went to discuss vetting prior to transport, they "remembered" to tell her they had found him a home.
The above 2 photo's were taken about 6 weeks ago, the below photo's were taken after living under the custody of the bad owner for 6 weeks.
THE HOME
James new owner has been jailed due to animal abuse, is out on bond & ran James to the vet to see why he had lost so much weight & his stools were bloody, also his disposition seemed to be changing, he just wanted to stay to himself. This new owner has been on D'Ann's our shelters DNA list for quite some time but, even though there were plenty of signs & plenty of people to ask, the vet clinic let him go to this [b]BAD PET OWNER]/b]. Since she took the dog to the vet right after leaving jail, the shelter's ACO officer could not pick him up the next evening when they went to do so. D'Ann has known this girl (bad owner) for nearly 20 years & have tried to save her dogs in the past - she trusts D'Ann & D'Ann is praying she can get her to release James to her - if & when he checks out healthy from a "different" vet clinic - could you save him - he will really need to get out of this area!
None of these dogs have shown any aggression to shelter staff and volunteers, nor do they have any history of aggression.
