Wyldmoonwoman in bike shorts!

Postby Wyldmoonwoman » June 9th, 2008, 6:51 am

I did it, I rode my bike for 54.5 miles yesterday...It was 92 degrees out and I was so tired...I did great, I stopped at all the rest areas to hydrate so it took me almost 5 hours. This was the hardest physical thing I have ever done in my life.

I raised $1350 for the American Diabetes Association

I feel great today, my girly parts are a little sore, my legs feel great. I ate a huge meal after the ride and crashed early. I wandered around in a spent fog for a couple hours after the ride...the last 20 miles were really hard and hilly, plus we had the wind blowing in our faces to slow us down.

We had one of the charity bike tours come through town yesterday and those bikers were REALLY kicking butt, especially considering the heat! The organizers had "pit stops" and rest areas set up all over the place, plus had cars patrolling the route looking for bikers in distress.

Kudos to you for doing it, seriously. That was one tough ride.

I usually have to stop for a snack.

That could also be why I don't wear lycra...

Your welcome everyone for the comments.

I have to say it was hard and I am still on a little high for finishing in the 92 degree heat.

My next charity ride is a metric century (62.5 miles) for MS

I hopped on my bike to go to the store last night for some half and half...the store is 3 miles away...before I knew it I had done a 15 mile ride because it was so nice out.

For the first time in my life I am quite proud of what my body can do :D
