Our second-to-last appointment...

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

went SO well I had to pinch myself! :o

First off, we were on time - they were running behind. :rolleyes2:
So, since it was hot we sat outside rather than in the stuffy car. I got Mick wet a few times to cool him off, and he kept a close eye on the front door of the vet office. lol
We saw several people and dogs exit, and I only had to remind Beast ONCE w/an :"AH!" that he couldn't act the fool - he sat the entire time, only did some squeaking... can't blame him for that since it was directed at a ginormous Rottweiler who was eyeballing us.

They finally called us in and Mick got on the scale w/out any prompting.
We went to our room and waited... and for the first time since we started chemo he wasn't shivering and shaking like a virgin on her wedding night!
He just very calmly layed on his side and waited, no moaning, no groaning, no hyperventilating in the muzzle.

The vet techs came in and did their thing, and Mick didn't flinch.
Dr. Correa came in to feel his nodes and Mick wasn't happy - but he stayed put and didn't make a sound. Only his breathing became a little faster, but that was it.
When he was done he didn't immediately try to struggle to get up - he waited for me to tell him it was "okay".

We went in the empty waiting room to wait for the blood work results and I took his muzzle off.
Beast attacked the gauze and vet wrap on his leg w/a vengeance and the receptionist thought that was hilarious.

Dr. Correa came out to give me the results (bah - low white count again), I had to remind Beast of his good manners w/a tiny "ah" because she started gesturing A LOT for some reason... and we were done!

When we went outside we saw a skywriter putting together a smiley face!!! What an awesome end to an awesome appointment! :)

Thanks, Dee... I am VERY relieved, but also a little bit apprehensive about chemo being done... ya know?
Very, very happy for Mick though, regardless - he has been a trooper!
