I love the second pic! You need to post pics of your turtles more often.

Holy hell! Look at those nails! And he is very pretty, in a turtle-y kind of way.

wow...those are some great turtle pictures!! He looks like a pretty cool turtle. I've been trying to convince Eric for YEARS for us to get a turtle...I don't know why he settled for a dog :rolleyes2:

:D :D :D
So what are you going to teach him to do?

Reptiles are hard to train, usually, because they're not easily reinforced. He seems to like his "crack" though...so what's on the agenda?

(one of the activities that trainers do in Karen Pryor's Clicker Academy is train an animal that is not a dog. Many people train fish...which amazes me. I can't even keep any alive, much less train them. I've got my cat trained on a few things, without the clicker. I'm thinking of working on one of my rats...they're easy.)

As soon as I get the hang of training The Beast, I'll move up to turtles. :P

Aaaah... a sign of improper husbandry. They shouldn't smell at all when kept in adequate enclosures w/appropriate filters.

I dunno man, I was in charge of their care, and we had a lot of turtles, but still.

They didn't smell unless you were churning everything up or cleaning the filter, but then it was like stinky swamp :puke:

Oh, I'm sure you didn't know - it's TEN gallons of water PER inch of shell PER turtle. I doubt that a pet store would house one turtle in a 120+ gallon tank, let alone dozens of them.
The little turds are MUCH messier than gold fish. :nono:

Meh, I know a LOT (and I mean, a LOT ;)) about aquarium fish etc so I think we did pretty well, at least in the store. We don't have size restrictions so ours were teeny tiny.
Even my Tree Frogs smell, (Wes tells me), I'm just used to it, I guess :|
