bruise? added photo

Rocky has pink pads on his paws. On one of the pads there is a black circle which I noticed a few weeks ago. I was not sure if it was a freckle (his belly skin is covered with dark brown spots looks like someone spilled paint). Or a blood blister or bruise. Its not raised. Looks like someone drew a circle with a sharpe marker. However I noticed it has gotten larger. Anyone have a clue what it could be?

I don't know what it could be, maybe a picture would help some, though.....

Just changing color maybe? I don't know . . .

Could it be a tick bite?

That looks strange. I guess if it was me and I was concerned I'd have the vet check it out.

I just looked at Dex's feet, he has one of those on his front foot.

Yeah its the front foot. Is Dexter white too with skin pigment? Maybe its just a pigment thing. But Im sure it got bigger. Also on his nose after a scratch from running past some branches, I noticed the only scar left behind is a tiny black dot. like a pencil dot.

are you sure it's gotten larger? If so, I would make a vet visit, pigmentation should not change.

Is it painful? Does the pad feel any different where the spot is?

Is his name Dexter? Assumed Dex was short for Dexter

Both of my dogs have spotted paws like that. Unless it seems painful to him, or like the others said if it changes size, color, texture, or shape...I wouldn't worry about it. It's just pigment in my kids.

I thought Dexter's was just pigment, too.

Piper's pigment costantly changes. He's always got new freckles that start small and grow bigger.

Can't you just call your vet's office and ask them about it? They might not need to see the dog at all, if it is a common thing.

Maybe just keep a close eye on it (shoot- maybe even measure it?) to track it's behavior- if anything

Thank you! purple the spot on Dexters foot does look exactly the same as Rocky's. No I am not 100% shure if it got larger or if it grew along with his feet and body. But I do believe it is larger. No it is not raised or feel different. No pain or discomfort. Not sure if it was always there but I dont believe it was. I will keep an eye on it. If there seems to be any changes I will call the Vet.

Emma has them on her pads to. She is mostly white and has the black spots on her skin. I call them freckles.
