Please Humor me with my dumb questions :)

Weight pull, Protection, Agility, Flyball... you name it!

I'm not new to dogs or trainging them in basic obedience etc.

I am however new to wanting to train my dogs in doggie sports :)

I'm hoping Buster my now 12 week old rescue will be suitable for weightpulling and maybe even some flyball LOL. Definately want to get him his CGC

Anyway in order to compete in such events, does Buster have to be a UKC registered APBT? Or can any old rescued pit compete?

I think any dog can compete in Flyball...they never asked if Sacha was registered when I joined Erin's team...and I know her Aussie's are rescued...

You do not need your dog to be registered for flyball

You can also pull in the IWPA without papers so you are good to go

Well, you do need to register your dog with a governing body (NAFA-North American Flyball Association, or U-Fli (United Flyball League International) But they'll register breeds and mixes...with or without papers. Mine are all rescues with no "papers" (to speak of...not counting Ripley's paperwork that was never sent in from the CKC...the prestigious Continental Kennel Club)...and Score is a mixed breed. I just registered the Aussies as Aussies and Score as a Mix. Simple. One time fee for the life-time of the dog.

btw Katrina...NAFA and U-Fli both take registration online with a CC #...but we don't do that until the dog is race-ready (so no one wastes any $$$).

Altered mix breed dogs can pull UKC with an AMBOR registration. Purebred dogs can be altered as well.
