E-Mail Problems

Have a question/comment/concern about the board in general? Post it here

Postby amazincc » March 26th, 2008, 10:28 pm

I don't get my e-mails.
I get notified that I have them, but I can't read them
I get shown the numbers of e-mails I have... but they don't actually match w/the actual e-mails.
I get notifications for e-mails I have now, have already read, and might possibly get in the future.
The spam folder contains valid e-mails... and the e-mail folder contains porn.... possibly, probably.
The spam folder cannot be accessed, by me or anyone else.
My e-mails cannot be accessed by me, but PROBABLY by 150 million strangers.
I keep getting "e-mail alert" notifications, but - alas - I can't read them. I hope my house isn't on fire.
I also get amber alerts that I can't open. I hope my daughter isn't missing.
I have contacted my IP relentlessly for the past 30 days.
I don't know if they are, in fact, getting my e-mails... or if I'm getting theirs. Or if they even respond.
My left eye has started to twitch every time I hear the e-mail "ding".
My computer quacks like a duck - seriously - whenever an e-mail might be on the horizon. It's starting to bug me. I have started to oink back.

AOL SUCKS!

There... I feel better!

:backRoll: I laugh only because...that is exactly why I don't have AOL anymore...people thought my eye twitch was an affliction and I kept having to explain it was....it's called AOL!

You mean my 3,587 letters to Mick, confessing my endless love to him are out there in Limbo somewhere

Wait until you try to discontinue your service with them. I tried to do it for 2 days, finally Travis had to get on the phone and literally threatened them. Well he had a few choice words for them. It was such a pain. The person wouldn't let me cancel the account. I had to finally call the bank and make sure that they were blocked. I have mine with At&t but I am trying to figure out how to get a plan out here in the boonies by satellite. We don't need a home phone. We don't ever use it. Always the cell. We don't talk to anybody but each other and the parents so we use Verizon. I wish I could figure out how I could save $79.00 a month. I have my Dad looking into what is available in my area.

That is my whole phone bill with DSL. I wish I could find somewhere to pay $10 other than AOL.

I get AOL for free, and have since we have had other computer access. I'd never pay for it!
AOL is, by definition, a computer VIRUS!

I like AOL.... yes i know i'm wierd :)

but i get it for free also, as i access the web with road runner....

for those of you paying.... if you have DSL and or cable etc.... yours should be free also.

Christine, can you read your mail on the web client better than via actual AOL?

I, too, love gmail. I've actually converted several people over to it. It won't solve all your problems, though. Gmail doesn't provide internet access, just email, so you still have to go through an ISP to get online. Though once you're online, it should be better than aol mail.

We used to joke at my last job that having no internet connection was bad, but having aol was worse.

Hotmail.com is free as well as yahoo.com; msn.com; I can't think of anymore right now, but if I do I will post them.
