I was told that MASSholes were welcome so HERE I AM!! :greenWave:

I live outside Spfld, MA and volunteer w/ MSPCA and TJO where we get a lot of great pits that can languish too long because of 1) idiots; 2) insurance and 3) more idiots. :|

I'm also happy to help out w/ transports and home visits. I love PBs! :love3:

HI CINDI!!!!

I've been doing transports for Cindi for a while now... she's good people!

I had a Keeshond at my house for a week a few years ago, on the way to Wisconsin (I think) was that one of yours?

Hey there from a fellow Masshole :greenWave:

Are the MSPCA and TJO a co-existing unit now, or do you just volunteer for both?

I used to live out in Amherst and had friends right on the Chicopee line. Such a sad place for the APBT :(

Michelle-YEP that was a KEES going to Canada just about the time the borders closed due to 9/11. Thank doG you stepped up to hold that dog til he could make it home!

MSPCA and TJO are still separate entities. MSPCA takes owner surrenders; TJO is animal control for Holyoke/Chicopee/W Spfd/Spfd/Hampden. I'm the volunteer coordinator for the Pooches (MSPCA) and PAWS (TJO) programs whereby we take the adoptable dogs to Forest park on Sat (TJO) and Sun (MSPCA) with their adorable (stenciled by yours truly) ADOPT ME vests! I've a wonderful bunch of volunteers that keep this program humming along. Both facilities try SOOOO hard for the PBs that come through the doors, but it's an uphill battle betw the idiots and the ins laws. :x

Hello and welcome! Glad to have you!

Are we to assume that you also own labradorks? :greenWave:

Yep, I have labradors, but my fav and bestest dog was, and will always be, my chow/pit mix, Bugzee RIP 2/13/07. I interact with many pits volunteering with MSPCA & TJO. Wonderful dogs that dont deserve the bad reputation and fear mongering...GRRRRRR. Next to lab peeps, PB peeps are the best!!!
