The drive to secure protection from insurance discrimination is making some progress in New York. The NYS Assembly Committee on Insurance moved favorably on a bill to prohibit red-lining dog owners based solely on breed of dog owned about 10 days ago. That was an important "first step" in what will be a tough battle.
We now need New York residents to concentrate their efforts on the NYS Senate Insurance committee, and voice their support for S2289. This is a strong bill which would be a huge step in the right direction for good dog owners with well-managed dogs.
