Any New Yorkers in the house?

Pits in the news and info on Breed Specific Legislation.

The drive to secure protection from insurance discrimination is making some progress in New York. The NYS Assembly Committee on Insurance moved favorably on a bill to prohibit red-lining dog owners based solely on breed of dog owned about 10 days ago. That was an important "first step" in what will be a tough battle.

We now need New York residents to concentrate their efforts on the NYS Senate Insurance committee, and voice their support for S2289. This is a strong bill which would be a huge step in the right direction for good dog owners with well-managed dogs.

Details on the bill and who to contact are on the Dog Federation of New York website:

I will link this to my AKC kennel club as well. :D
