Inara and her pacifiers...

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Postby TheRedQueen » February 29th, 2008, 12:59 am

for those that don't know...Inara has a paint-peeling bark, and she thinks she makes pretty music with it. So I had to find something else for her mouth to do...and so she carries toys when she plays, instead of barking.

She is a wee bit obsessive about it...but it makes me laugh. (it also has the added bonus that she doesn't nip anybody when she plays now)

And the reason I have so many action shots of Inara? She's always circling me...running with her toy. Always. Never stops. ;)

She's so pretty . . . and SUCH a busy body

I love the skull bandanna. We're big fans of skulls in this house.

I love her face. I got Kinzyl one of those cuz balls (the ball with the feet) she didn't like it. Gotty has fallen in love with it. He has it in his mouth constantly. He chewed the feet off but takes it everywhere with him. He likes to squeak it to. As a grandma I have to give my grandson something that makes constant noise. It is my job right??? :P Josh has thanked me repeatedly. :backRoll:

Erin... is that a collie trait, you think??? 'Cause if Daisy doesn't have a "pacifier" she'll pick at herself... or lick a spot until it's raw... or twist and turn on her blanket... :rolleyes2:
She's ALWAYS in motion, just like Inara.

Pretty, Pretty Inara! What a looker! She can turn heads...especially b/c she's always running around!

I do love the pacifier, though...that's why you tell her to find a toy, right?

I remember that from when the dogs were all playing after your sister's party...she does have a loud bark! But it's cute (of course I don't have to listen to it all the time)...

To some extent yeah...most herding dogs NEED a job...as I'm always telling people. And it doesn't always need to be a super important, big job. :) Carrying toys around the house and yard is a good job for Inara...it keeps her from her other self-imposed job of bossing/nipping/shoving Ripley and Xander around. ;)

Inara has learned to settle...but it was a long road. She's a pacer...she doesn't tend to lick obsessively (but that's becoming a new habit in the past few weeks...licking what she's lying on)...so she paces around the house. Hardwood floors, dog nails...*click*click*click*click*click*. Enough to drive anyone mad! She can now settle pretty well...but if she's been cooped up too long without exercise, the pacing comes back.

Most herders DO need something to do...I can absolutely attest to that...

Yeah...we have matching ones...we both wore them Monday night to class. lol

She wore hers at camp all last summer...HA dogs have to wear red bandanas so people know not to approach them...so Miss Inna wore skulls along with the red...she thought it was more than fitting. ;)

WOW! That's an awesome idea!!! Can we make that a law? General federal law? I'd vote for that...

She has such pretty coloring!

And I've heard of putting red bandannas as DA dogs, but not HA dogs. There should be some nationally-known bandanna colors for "keep your *$%^^$%^ dog away from mine," and "if you like your hands, don't try to pet her." lol
