They miss their mama :(

So a friend (and I use the term loosely) of my 12yr. old daughter called last night, asking if Ashley could go "help get rid of" some puppies with her today.
She said she was going to "sell them for free" at somewhere like Walmart.
Her grandma said there's "too many puppies here" and wants to get rid of some.

I told the girl we do not believe in doing that and it's a poor way to find dogs homes. I then offered to take them off their hands.
Here's what I found when I arrived...

I'm guessing 5-6 weeks. It's so sad.
They are of another culture and I hated like hell taking then from their mama. She's full of milk, too  But there IS one pup left there.
These puppies were running all over the house - no shots (too young really anyway) and wormy of course.
But I knew that if I don't take them, they'll be making their way to Walmart and being handed out in the parking lot.
I'm going to spay their Mama dog when she's done nursing and her teats have shrunk some.
I hate people sometimes :(

I have to go get some puppy formula for them. They can't eat real well yet :(

Geez...I wish you were closer...we're always looking for new Assistance dog prospects, and most of the shelters/HS/ACs won't work with us around here.

I get the rescues from a friend in NC...silly, isn't it?

Those pups are so cute! Glad they're out of that situation!

Joyce, there is three babies. They kept one for a pet.
Mags - the owners are of another culture, and...well, they have different beliefs about dogs, one being, they don't need a buncha coddling (ie, staying with their mama until 8 weeks of age or older)
RC - I know, it's amazing, well I won't have a problem finding them homes I'm sure. They seem to be Chomeranians :(

Yeah. I got that.

Not all people of different cultures mistreat their animals, though.

Just ask my friend Marcos lol

Oh I know...well I was just happy to see they weren't filleting out the puppies for dinner ;)

Oh, and as I walked up, one of the kids was throwing a sandal at one of the small dogs because it was barking at us. :x Ashley was upset but I told her, they learn it from their elders...

they are adorable. Glad you took them in and got them away from that situation. How awful that they couldn't even let the puppies stay with their mama. :x At least they are in a better situation and they have each other to play with for now.

And good for you that you will be getting their mama spayed. Will you ask if you can spueter the other puppy they kept? Do they have any other pets that needs to be fixed?

Yes they do...I'm not sure how much good it will do altering just one but maybe if I get them the discount they can afford to do the others :(
