If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Because he finds acorns and buries them under his bed. :giggle:

Oh!
I can't wait until I am able to buy a house with a big yard. I have always wanted a black Labrador. :heartbeat:

Mickey is blessed with many friends just like that. :)

And what color would the puppies be? My Mom always wanted a Lab too, until Mickey decided to adopt her.

Typically, with labs, it depends on what color the parents are, but if one or both of the labs is black, then you have a higher chance of ending up with a mixed (some yellow, some black, and possibly some chocolate) litter...

Did Mickey put your mom through a rigorous adoption process?

Also, blacks tend to excel in field trials...while you do see Black English bred labs (shorter and stockier) it's much easier to find Black American bred labs (small ponies)

It's funny, one of Sacha's puppies from her last litter is in Florida...Bunnell, FL...is that anywhere near you and your mom?

Did Mickey put your mom through a rigorous adoption process?

Sorry, computer issues...I tried to edit, and it posted, then I tried to quote...ARGH!!!

I know that my Mom didn't want another puppy and she really didn't want a Pit Bull. But Mickey used to howl when he couldn't see her and he used to climb on her shoulder and fall asleep on her neck, and he just wouldn't take no for an answer. And then when he started to act so bad around people it was either putting him to sleep or keeping him, because my Mom was afraid that he would bite or hurt someone else. And you know the rest.

I don't think so. But maybe one of the future ones could come and live in Ft. Lauderdale.

His head rests comfortably on the kitchen table. His DNA test said Lab, Rotti, English Setter and "other stuff". 8) Like Katrina said, he was a rescue, found wandering the streets and brought to the town shelter. At 12 weeks he was just a little guy.

The kitchen table...
I definitely want one who is big.
Is it hard for him to walk and get up or play? I heard that a lot of big dogs have joint problems.

Right now he is okay. But I have to keep his weight down. He was up to 140 and although looked slim to me :rolleyes2: I got him down to 134-ish. Vet is happier with thinner. I keep him on Glyco-flex II as a preventative for his knees. He sleeps on a twin mattress.

I am SURE the puppy would love that!!! The pup in Bunnell was "donated" to the new owner - long story, but he's doing cadaver search work for a fire department, well, being trained for that, which I think is very cool (he actually washed out of a bomb detection program because his hips would've only rated as "fair" for OFA as opposed to "good" (and they need "good" or "excellent" for police departments)... And, of course, I'd have to hand deliver the pup to you, so it would be good reason to come down there!!!

Joyce, i still can't believe that Truman doesn't have Great Dane in him...I mean, I've NEVER seen a lab his size...but, of course with the rotti in him...I love his facial expressions!!!
