Fundraiser for Mick and Christine

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

Hey, everyone!

We have received a VERY generous donation of some fundraising bracelets from blabsforbullies. We will be selling them through this forum and 100% of the proceeds will be for Mick and Christine's fight against lymphoma!

The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Foundation's Chase Away K9 Cancer Campaign has raised over $100,000 at various dog sporting events across the country in the past year -- this money is earmarked for Canine Cancer research. See more about the Campaign and Chase's story here: http://www.acvimfoundation.org/awarenes ... ancer.html

"I could tell you the longest story about the worst day of my life but that's not how Chase should be remembered.

She left us yesterday after I took her to Sauvie Island one last time for a swim off a dock she has played on for years. It was strange: I have never seen the water in the Willamette so clear that you could see her entire body and her legs swimming away. She had a happy smile on her face and her tail was up and she enjoyed play time at the river. The cancer was getting her quicker than anyone expected so it was time for us to say good bye. My vet did a wonderful job and I held her to the end. She will never ever be forgotten and will fill our hearts forever with so many great memories."

This letter was written by Cera Reusser, "mom" to Chase, an AKC Master Hunter, Elite Jumper in Dockdogs Big Air and NW Challenge Champion for 2005. She was a vital, strong dog who showed no outward signs of illness until Cera discovered a lump under her chin. After being referred to a Board-certified veterinary oncologist, the diagnosis was devastating: nasal carcinoma. Chase underwent chemotherapy and received the best care possible but it was too late. She lost her battle in June of 2006, just three months shy of her 7th birthday.

This loss has propelled Cera to do as much as she can to help battle this devastating disease and to support animal health studies that may one day lead to a cure for canine cancer and other life-threatening diseases. From selling hats, organizing local fundraising events, to getting the word out to breed clubs and the DockDogs world, Cera has helped raise over $100,000 for canine cancer studies.

Blabsforbullies got involved with the Campaign through her membership with Dock Dogs http://www.dockdogs.com/

The bracelets are similar to the ones seen here:

Image

One side says "Chase Away K9 Cancer" and the other side says "Forever in Our Hearts".

For those who wish to buy a bracelet, the cost is $5 (or however much you'd like to donate! )and can be paid directly through Christine's PayPal address: chemjj@mail.broward.edu

Once payment is received, I will ship the bracelet directly to you!

Many many thanks go out to blabsforbullies for making this possible!

Yes you do, BUT I don't think there would be a problem if you called in a donation to the vet & let Christine know so she can give us your address.

And THANK YOU blabsforbullies for the generous gift!

Same thing :)

Pay pal is basically just a site where you can send money to people with your credit card/debit card. If they have an account, you have an account, etc. then it can be used just like a credit card machine. ;)

This is a fantastic donation and way to both raise funds, and awareness....

Paypal is easy....

go to http://www.paypal.com

on left it says

new to paypal, get an account
click sign up

then fill out the info you only want a personal account (unless you are doing lots of other stuff)

so click on the first column on the left...
note in the top where the url is....
it will say https
the s stands for secure, which makes it safer to send this type of info over the web.

fill in all your personal data.... name, address, etc. agree to create the account.... etc.

then the next page will ask you how to pay, ie credit card, debit card etc....
fill that in.... then it will ask who to send money to,

put in chemjj@mail.broward.edu

and then put the amt you want to send.... and hit send...and you'll be all done....
