Hi everyone my name is Matt and I am from Rochester NY. I have 2 dogs

Earl who is a lab mix

and

Yoda who is an American pit bull mix -- Yoda is in my avatar

I am a moderator at SPBR and have found this site since so many of the members of SPBR have come here. I am always looking for new information on the breed and since there are so many knowledgeable people on here I thought I would give it a try.

To be honest I didn't know a lot about the bully breeds until a few years back when one of my friends adopted one. He adopted a 2 year old from the local humane society and he was one of the sweetest most affectionate dogs I had ever met. I started to do a little research on them and started to notice that the majority of the animals in the local shelters were pit bulls. I couldn't understand why such a wonderful and affectionate breed had such a terrible reputation. Then last year my wife Heidi and I adopted Earl from SPBR. Earl was listed as a lab/pit mix but we definitely think he is now a lab/hound mix. We just recently adopted Yoda from SPBR in December and have been having a great time since.

Will do

He has been having a blast with Earl since we adopted him. I've never met a dog who licked to kiss so much. He acts as if your entire face and head is one giant lolly pop
