I brought Mick to the oncologist this morning, since he had two episodes of very bloody diarrhea and was very lethargic, and our doctor got very concerned... as did I.
Well... $800.00 and 16 hours later we are back home - Mick is currently snoring on my bed.
They did blood tests and a urine test, and we don't really know what caused it... but the little $hithead put up a fight-and-a-half at the office... he "came right back to life" as soon as we got there and he recognized the building - and it was "on"!

Our oncologist was afraid to sedate him, because his blood pressure was so low that they thought he might go into shock... and they needed to get some fluids into him fast when we got there. I wrestled Baby Cow into position, they slapped an IV on him, and then everyone left the room in a hurry so I could take off his muzzle since he started vomiting.

When the vet techs had to come in for blood work and to check the IV I slapped the muzzle back on and pinned him down, so they could work on him. We did this on and off for about 12 hours and I'm about to pass out.
He is re-hydrated and on antibiotics as a preventative measure, and they let me take him home, because he was way too stressed to spend the night... OMG, and for a "sick" dog he gave us a run for our money!
Dr. Correa still wants to go ahead w/the chemo treatment on Tuesday if he stays stable, and I'm soo looking forward to it... at least she has a sense of humor about the whole thing. She said working w/Mick is like jumping out of an air plane and hoping that the parachute opens on the way down into shark-infested waters... I think it's more like trying to grab a hold of a greased pig w/oil on your hands.

Anyway - his blood work showed no abnormalities or infections in regards to the bloody diarrhea... they think it might be a viral thing or even stress-related...

Yep... and on the way into the house we had to make a quick stop for a palm leaf which I graciously accepted as an apology for having been head-butted and kicked (but NOT bitten or growled at) about 300 times today...

Gotta love the little stink pot...
