Congratulations! She couldn't've been born with a better birthday! Libras are awesome, especially those born on 10/14.

Actually everything is way better than expected. They used the CPap only as a safety net...she was breathing on her own within a couple of hours. All those wires are blood pressure, pulse rate, oxygenation level....and a feeding tube. She's still too little to suckle a bottle or breast so feeding tube for a week or so then they hope to move her to breast.

We've already been able to hold her and they didn't think that would happen for 2 or more weeks....

So for her arrived almost 2 months early, she's doing really well.

Mommy and Daddy are doing good - better every day as she improves - and they've learned a whole new meaning of love. Although they are getting used to trying to handle something soooooo tiny...they keep asking me if I "want to change her diaper", "turn her over" - I keep telling them...nope you need to figure out how to handle her.

Our youngest son agrees that October 14th is a perfect birthday...he and she now get to share it.

Well our newest little overachiever decided that 3-4 weeks in the mid level intensive care was just too long...therefore she got herself all ready and they moved her to low level intensive care today!! :D

What was originally 8 weeks in icu is now looking like it could be 4-5 weeks.

If she is this big of an overachiever now...her parents are in for in when she turns 13!!!! :mrHappy:

Mom is doing well just adapting to being home without Isabelle, but it is getting easier.

Isabelle got her first set of casts for her club feet on Friday...it's sooo hard to see such a tiny one with both legs in casts...thankfully, she doesn't seem to mind at all.

The only monitoring lines left are heartbeat and respiration, everything else is off, which makes holding her for Mom much easier.

She is slowly starting to suckle (still mostly tube feeding) but she's building strength and figuring out what the boob is for :D
