From scanning the board, a lot of you know me from other boards....

for those of you that don't, my name is Lora (Bauer) Brashears (just married last August!) and my kennel name is Hartagold AmStaffs/APBTs. I do AKC & UKC Conformation, obedience, agility, and weight pull. I breed VERY rarely, and only when I truly feel it will improve the breed.

Oh and am a sarcastic b!tch who has no problem telling people what I think.

And I think this is the coolest smiley I've seen on the boards yet: :jerry:

Hi Lora!! Glad to have you here! How long have you been involved with the breed? And, more importantly, how have you been??

Hi :D

I got my first APBT (scatterbred ADBA dog) in 1987.... had a BYB litter (long story, but back then there was no info to tell me otherwise- Stratton books were the only "educational" materials out there, no internet, etc- and the breed wasn't a dime a dozen like they are now).

Anyhow after I had to put down the pup I kept from that litter due to poor temperament (fear biter), and wasn't having any luck at ADBA shows (other than with the one I put down, she was pointed, since they don't touch the dogs!), I had become involved with a UKC obedience club. I neutered the male I had, and got my UKC girl Freedom from Watchdog Kennels (again, didn't know better - I was impressed w/Blue Bully and wanted a pup out of him!). Freedom turned out to be the best dog in the world....UKC CH, UCD, TT, therapy dog, was in parades, in books, on tv, you name it. But her health wasn't great - I spayed her w/o breeding her, luckily- found out a couple years later she had hereditary heart problems and cancer.

I got my first AKC AmStaff (Taffy) from White rock Kennels in 1993, and she became my foundation bitch. I've had 4 litters (total of 17 pups) since then, and those pups have earned a bunch of AKC & UKC titles, CGC's, etc.

Currently I have 5 dogs in the house......

MeMe (8 yr old f/s) - BIMBS, AKC CH, UKC GrCH, UCD, UAG1, FAST"E" Hartagold Standing Ovation, CD, TT, OA, OAJ, NAP, OJP, SCT, CGC, OFA (Hips, elbows, cardiac, patellas, thyroid), CERF, DNA-VIP, ROH

Doodle (5 yr old F) - AKC/UKC CH (4 Gr legs), UAG1, UWP Hartagold Yankee Rose, CD, TT, NA, NAJ, CGC, OFA (Hips, cardiac, patellas), PennHip .41/.36, CERF, DNA, ROH

Presley (3 yr old M) - BIMBS, AKC/UKC CH Hartagold Devil In Disguise, CGC, OFA (Hips, elbows, patellas, cardiac), PennHip .41/.36

Zumi (3 yr old F) UKC Mjr Ptd Hartagold's Flirtin With Dizaster, CGC

MooMoo (3 yr old f/s) Hartagold Milk Cow Blues, CGC (PET- NEEDS A HOME!) :greenWave:

And I've been ok! Recovering......started back to work Monday. It will take a while to get back to 'normal' though! thanks for asking!

Hi ...... I have no idea where Weatherly is!! I'm near Pittsburgh PA, actually near the Pgh International Airport, which is northwest of Pittsburgh itself.

Welcome to the board. Ever since first reading you posts on another forum, I have pointed the uneducated to your dogs and testing in order to profile a "real" breeder. Thanks for all you do for the breed.

Oh, and glad to here you're going back to work!
