we took a roadtrip out to boston from boulder, co. we drove 22 hours the first day and slept in the car at a gas station, 10 hours the next day to my boyfriend's brothers military base (where he was stationed). we had no way of getting ahold of him to tell him we were coming, so it amounted to another 8hr goosechase JUST ON THE BASE in sweltering georgia heat and humidity, towing a jet ski on the end of our jeep, and walking distances trying to navigate a million buildings that are identical. i had to drive because i was the only one with a military id. it wasn't easy. we go to the commissary and sit in the refrigerated aisle.
FINALLY we find him, we're all sweaty and disgusting and tired and defeated and the water is down on the whole base so we can't even go to the bathroom. he and his brother have some drinks (a lot) i drive us off base around 10pm, we stop at a gas station in the ghetto, my friend locks the keys in the car, then turns over to the shady guy next to us pumping up his impala and says "somebody around here HAS to know how to break into a car!" ahhhh...nieve! NOT the place for a little blond haired girl to say something like that! meanwhile there is a drug dealer dealing on the sidewalk, police come, lots of shady dropped cars and such. AAA comes 45 LONG minutes later. we drive to south carolina, steal money from my now passed out boyfriend, get a motel 6 room, take showers and SLEEP for once!
what's one thing you would change about yourself?
