And by popular demand... here is the intermediate!
We start off with the day's decoy team
like beginner, you can have a prong collar on your dog for a 5 point deduction. You can also have
a pull tab on the prong. You can't have a regular leash on the dog though, but you can have it with you
incase you need to switch to training mode.
The convicts are ready and waiting
Again, we start in jail, with our dog loose next to us
Position doesn't matter, though you get extra points for good handling. Starting
off with your back to the decoy keeps your dog from bolting out when the decoy opens
the cell and runs away.
now, we head to the wall, time to go under again!
after your breather next to the shed, you head to the ginormous a frame again. It's a little
higher this time around.
Put your dog in a stay and go over
sometimes the people stayed while the dog went over
put your dog in a stay again and get yourself to the other side
check in with the shooter
done with that!
on to the shooting range, which is twice as long this time around! It turns out that
all the misses in Beginner were on purpose... no such luck in intermediate!
Use whatever you can to protect yourself
Sometimes a good idea
Safe on the other side
Now, on to deal with the razor wire
under we go!
team work gets you through
don't forget the all-important black box
the PERSON gets the black box!
ok fine, the person carries both
back to jail to exchange your box (or not) and then head to protection.
Our fist exercise is the defense of handler. You put your dog in the car, and then go to the back
to "pump gas"
A stranger approaches and talks to you
sometimes the strangers are...
Then again, sometimes the handler is even more strange
And then.. he attacks!
Your dog comes to save you
Tell that bad guy to freeze, out your dog and go get him
Now, on to "Air conditioning." You are stuck in traffic, it's hot and your a/c is broken.
you put your dog in the back and roll your window down. A bad guy walks up to your car
and reaches in to steal your bag out of the front seat!
no luck this time
some came out to get the bag
the bad guy may have gotten it, but that doesn't mean he can keep it.
back in the car we go
the final exercise is defense of handler. you put your dog in a position of control and walk away.
a decoy approaches
and grabs you
sometimes the unexpected happens
your dog comes into the rescue!
