The Movie Thread

Grab some popcorn and watch a few flicks!

You are right on about the special effects. They didn't over do it at all but the special effects were still absolutely amazing.

What a great movie!!

What really surprised me about Transformers was how the special effects didn't have that "look what we did!" quality, they just helped to move the story along in an exciting way. The acting was excellent, and there was plenty of character development in between action sequences.

I would have liked a more prominent G1 transforming sound tough.

I really thought all the fan buzz on the "official" websites for the movie was created and/or the negative reviews were edited out. I'm pleased that I was wrong.

I heard an interview with Shia Lebouf on the radio and he said that the '09 Camaro was one of five prototypes in the world and it was worth $500,000. There was a guy from GMC whose job it was to watch the car and make sure it looked perfect at all times.

Talk about some serious advertising for American made cars. I have to admit that the Camaro concept car they used was sick.

Did you see they are auctioning off the old Camaro that LaBeouf bought as his first car? They are donating the proceeds to the Fisher Houseâ„¢ Foundation

Yeah, I heard that someone was auctioning off the car. I'd rather have the '09. :)

GMC was a HUGE financial backer of the film, so they got lots of advertising in it. I love all the geeks who were up in arms about the movie being a "2 hour commercial for GMC" when the cartoon was in fact a 30 minute commercial for Hasbro.

I loved the cars (except for that pansy Solstice. what a waste of car!), the story line, the humor and even the abs on that hot chick. good movie  i heard that there is going to be another one?
